Honey Chocolate Cake (Keke Tiakarete Honi)
Ingredients: -
2 Tbsp honey,
227g butter’
2 cups milk,
454g sugar,
567g flour,
2 tsp baking soda,
2 Dsp cocoa,
2 tsp baking powder,
METHOD: -
Melt butter, honey, sugar and 1 cup milk. Cool.
Dissolve baking soda in 1 cup warm milk. Add flour, cocoa, and baking powder to honey mixture, stir in baking soda and milk. Mix well together till smooth.
Line 2 x 20cm (8 inch) round cake tins, put half the mixture into each tin, bake 1 hour at 180°C.
Ice your cake with your favourite chocolate icing.
