Ingredients: -
2 egg whites,
1 1/2 cups sugar,
1/2 teaspoon salt,
1 teaspoon corn flour,
1 teaspoon vinegar,
1 teaspoon vanilla essence,
4 tablespoons boiling water -
METHOD: -
Let eggs reach room temperature.
Place all ingredients into a mixing bowl and beat for 10 minutes.
Bake on old round microwave glass plate at just over 150 °C for 10 minutes, then lower temperature to just under 150 °C and bake for a further one hour.
Allow to cool in oven -
Please Note: -
This is only a two-egg pavlova. Many others have more. This will make a really large pav.
If you want it bigger still, you can use more eggs and double all the other ingredients.
Using an old glass microwave plate (you can buy cheaply at secondhand shops), is the key to this simple recipe. You can take the plate with the pav on it if going to other parties or serve it decorated at home on a silver cake board.
Photo shows a pav. decorated in autumn leaves (handmade chocolate leaves), that we made, but this shown on a silver-coloured cake board -
Enjoy.
