Ingredients: -
Jar of cranberry jelly (like Ocean Spray- whole berry one is the best),
Butter,
Liquor of choice (e.g., red wine, bourbon, whiskey, sherry) -
METHOD: -
Put jar of cranberry jelly in a pot and heat on medium heat with a knob of butter.
Stir to break up jelly and stir until smooth and bring up to a simmer.
Add 2 x tablespoons of your favourite alcohol and stir through.
Pour over roast meat... especially good with venison. But also lovely with turkey, chicken, pork or beef -
So, so, simple yet so tasty. I just use whatever alcohol I have on hand and enjoy experimenting.
Makes a smooth, rich sauce, that tastes like a million dollars.
