(You can add any additional ingredients of your choice)
Prepare your platter: -
You can use any large platter, board, or a table as shown in the picture, it really depends on how large you want your platter to be?
Also have on hand small bowls and plates/trays for your dips, sauces, and pickles etc (Have a picture like the one above so you have ideas on how to place your foods).
Slice and dice your fruits, your veges, your cheeses except for the grapes and figs, which will be placed whole on the platter. Place these all to the side on trays.
Slice your meats, put these on to small plates/trays, you can slice the salami and place on the table as is? Put the dried tomatoes, gherkin, olives, and pickled onions onto small plates/trays, put these all to the side when done.
Slice your breads and put to the side.
The crackers can be placed on the platter as is, the cheese sticks can go into containers and the pretzels and nuts can go onto small plates/trays, put these all to the side.
Dice the cheeses, these can be placed as is on the platter, put to the side.
Make up your favourite dips, sauces and pickles and put them in small bowls, put to the side -
Arrange Platter: -
Position your large platter, board, or table and if you would like you can use the picture of our platter table or a picture of your own, start placing all your food items on the platter.
Place your rows of sliced watermelon, pineapple, and melon diagonally, straight, sideways or however you like on the platter, and the same with your sliced breads and crackers.
Place your plates/trays and bowls of figs, stuffed tomatoes, dried tomatoes, gherkins, pickles, pickled onions, olives, pretzels, and nuts around the platter.
The cheese sticks can go into long containers and be placed on the platter.
Add your bowls of dips, sauces, and pickles on the platter.
Now you should have empty spaces in between your food items you have already placed on the platter.
In these spaces fill with slices of pink grapefruit, orange and kiwi fruit, small bunches of grapes and diced cheeses, then sliced cucumber, celery, and carrot -
Your festive season platter is now complete and ready to be served. Enjoy!
