Ingredients:
400 grams beef, chuck steak, gravy beef or your choice of steak
200 grams lambs’ kidneys
2 Tablespoons pearl barley
Water
Salt & pepper to taste
2 carrots, slice into chunks
2 onions
1/4 cup chopped celery, optional
1 Tablespoon cornflour
METHOD:
Peel and chop vegetables and dice the meat and kidneys.
Into a casserole dish add diced meat and kidneys, vegetables and seasoning, add barley, cover with water.
Bring to boil in oven, simmer 2-4 hours until beef is tender and barley well cooked.
Thicken with cornflour and water.
Serve with a lashing of mashed potatoes.
