‘Always a favourite Easter meal to share with Family’
Ingredients:
1 fully cooked bone-in ham, approx 3.6kg to 4.2kg
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup Dijon mustard
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 tsp ground cloves
Pineapple rings and cherries (optional)
METHOD:
Preheat your oven to 160°C.
Prepare the ham: Place the ham in a roasting pan, cut side down. Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, making shallow cuts about 1/4 inch deep.
Make the glaze: In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, orange juice, and ground cloves. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
Glaze the ham: Brush the ham with a generous amount of the glaze. If using, secure pineapple rings and cherries to the ham with toothpicks.
Bake: Cover the ham loosely with aluminium foil and bake for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, basting with the glaze every 30 mins. Remove the foil during the last 30 mins of baking to allow the ham to caramelize and become golden brown.
Rest and serve: Let the ham rest for about 15 mins before slicing. Serve with any remaining glaze on the side. Serve with roast vegetables and gravy or salad. Enjoy.
