“This is a Yummy Easter Treat’
Ingredients:
6-8 small-medium crème chocolate easter eggs (freeze for at least 15 mins until ready use)
1 cup flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup water
Vegetable oil, for frying
Icing sugar, for dusting
METHOD:
Prepare the batter: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the water, whisking until you have a smooth batter.
In a deep fryer or a large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 175°C.
Dip each chocolate Easter egg into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
Carefully place the coated eggs into the hot oil. Fry them for about 2-3 mins, or until the batter is golden and crispy.
Drain and cool: Use a slotted spoon to remove the eggs from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Dust with icing sugar and serve.
