Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 cups apples, peeled and chopped
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
METHOD:
Preheat oven to 175°C.
Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
Fold in the apples and nuts.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45-50 mins, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Serve with fresh whipped cream and a cup of tea.
