Ingredients: -
500g beef mince,
1 egg, lightly beaten,
2 Tbsp BBQ sauce,
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce,
¼ cup breadcrumbs,
1 tsp dried mixed herbs,
1 tsp crushed garlic,
½ tsp salt,
1 small onion, grated,
2 Tbsp extra BBQ sauce,
METHOD: -
Preheat the oven to 160°C.
Put all the ingredients for the rissoles, except the oil and extra BBQ sauce, in a bowl, with your hands or with a wooden spoon, mix it all together. Let the mixture sit for a while, if you have time, to allow the flavours to develop, otherwise shape into 6 round patties straightaway.
Heat the oil in a heavy-based pan and cook a 2-3 of the patties at a time. If you overcrowd the pan they won't cook evenly. Cook the rissoles on a high heat to brown them on both sides, then turn the heat down to medium and cook them for about five minutes on each side to ensure they are cooked through. Place them on paper towels in a low oven to keep them warm.
Remove from the oven, brush over with the extra BBQ sauce, then return to the oven for a further 5 minutes.
